The Lollapalooza Series – The Temper Trap
Last week I ran into a playlist that had music of the 2010 Lollapalooza Festival, held in Chicago from August 6th to the 8th. I was very excited to listen to some of my favorite artists and to discover new groups and music. Now, I have a new goal, I have to go to a Lollapalooza festival at least once in my life .
Since this year’s festival had so many artist that are worth blogging about, I have decided to do a Lollapalooza series for this week. To give a little bit of background, Lollapalooza, is an annual music festival created in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band. This festival, that toured the United States annually, got cancelled in 1997 and revived in 2003. Since 2005 this festival has changed its format and now is a weekend destination festival held in Chicago. This year’s line-up had great artists like Soundgarden, Greenday, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Spoon etc
One of the groups that I recently discovered is The Temper Trap, they were also playing in Chicago. The Temper Trap is a group from Melbourne, Australia. Their debut album, titled Conditions, released in 2009 had great reviews. Their song “Sweet Disposition” reached #9 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart, and it is in the soundtrack of the movie 500 Days of Summer.
My favorite song is “Fader”,
